While the shelter is only open to women and children, alternative emergency shelter can be arranged for male survivors. The shelter is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Most families stay about 30 days. Food, clothing, safety planning, case management, counseling, legal advocacy, hospital and court accompaniment, tutoring, and assistance with crime victim compensation and protective orders are available throughout the stay.The shelter program has two phases. During Phase I of the program, which lasts 72 hours, the only requirement is residents complete an intake session, sign consent forms and review information about their rights as a client. This gives everyone time to rest and collect their thoughts. Clients who choose to enter Phase II are required to meet with a case manager at minimum once each week. During these sessions goals are established and monitored, strengths and obstacles are explored, and possible resources are identified.For more information, please call.
